Overview: We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an apprentice. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Level 3 IT Azure Cloud Support Specialist Apprenticeship. 

Salary: £25,000 per annum.

The Role: The IT Support Technician’s role is to provide technical support to staff of all levels across the Bank, both in person and electronically. This will include the support of all end user PC hardware and related equipment, operating system and application software, telephone/mobile support etc. The role troubleshoots problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion providing end-user assistance as required.  

Main responsibilities: [will include but not be limited to:] 

  • Receive, log and respond to incoming Help Desk calls, and/or e-mails regarding technology problems and provide timely resolution or escalation. Recommend and implement corrective solutions
  • Build, configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software. Assess the need for and implement performance upgrades to hardware, including the installation hard disks, RAM, etc.
  • User administration within Active Directory administration
  • First line network troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the company’s desktop computing environment
  • Where required, administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation applications
  • Provide support on the Microsoft Office family of products (incl. Teams) along with the company’s bespoke application suite(d)
  • Support of mobile devices ideally via MDM (laptops, iPad’s, iPhones, Androids etc.)

Whilst this role is primarily office-based, there will be opportunities for remote/flexible working, subject to line manager approval and where such working has no negative impact on the business and where suitable home working environment is available.

  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language 

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject 

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme. 

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week:Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm,35hrs a week.
