Network & Infrastructure Architect required by an award winning managed service provider based in Central London and paying up to £85k. You will take charge of maintaining, designing, implementing, and supporting the Network and Infrastructure. You will be responsible of a small team of Infrastructure Engineers and tasked with liaising with various departments ensuring group projects are completed efficiently. You will be the point of contact for senior meetings when reviewing operational and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly inspect internal infrastructure for smooth operation and early issue detection. Oversee the Change Control Process.
  • Deploy cutting-edge security monitoring to protect core infrastructure.
  • Pinpoint and implement improvements to boost infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
  • Escalation Management - Quickly resolve complex technical issues from support teams, including network and VOIP platform troubleshooting.
  • Actively participate in disaster recovery efforts to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Monitor and optimize IT service capacity to prevent outages and maintain top performance.
  • Assess the effects of proposed changes on core infrastructure.
  • Collaborate on external client proposals, leveraging infrastructure capabilities for innovative solutions.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and elevate service quality.

Requirements:

  • 5 Years Experience in a 3rd Line Technical Infrastructure Role
  • JNCIP-SP/CCNP or higher in network qualifications or equivalent skills in Service Provider Networking (Juniper environment).
  • Experience managing multi-site environments.
  • Proven track record in implementing and supporting medium to large IT/virtualised environments with multi-vendor technologies.
  • Expertise in IPS/IDS systems, including design, implementation, and security response.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco ASA55xx Firewalls, ASAv5x, Cisco 3750, Juniper MX Series (480/240), QFX/EX Juniper Switches, and Juniper SRX Firewalls.
  • Proficient in firewalling, intrusion detection/prevention, NAT, DHCP, ACLs, IPv4/IPv6.
  • Skilled in WAN Access Technologies, L2/P2P/EAD/QinQ, Fibre Technologies (SM/MM/OM3/CWDM/DWDM).
  • Strong in Internetworking (QOS, OSPF, BGP, WAN), BGP (MED, Communities, Route Policies, AS PATH, Flow Spec, ECMP, EVPN).
  • Proficient in Juniper MX/QFX/EX Series.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure and Cisco switches.
  • Experienced in creating clear and comprehensive documentation for security, technical implementation, and administration (HLD & LLD Design Docs).
  • Skilled in analysing access & event logs, and packet trace analysis (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Ability to presell network solutions (multi-tenant office sites, MPLS solutions, SDWAN, SASE).
  • Experienced with Fibre Technologies (SM/MM/OM3/CWDM/DWDM).
