Job Description:

  • To assist in the decision making processes of the Traffic, Network and Street Works Manager in the advance planning of major projects, street works, highway works, or events that have an impact on the day to day operation of the Council’s highway network and liaise with other interested parties including transport operators, statutory bodies, other agencies, developers, and all associated works promoters.
  • To attend meetings supporting the Traffic, Network and Street Works Manager or Senior Network Engineer and deputising on occasions. This includes meetings of the London Legacy Development Corporation, Westfield, Cross Rail and third party developers. The post holder may be required to work evenings, weekends and occasional public holidays, in order to meet these service requirements.
  • Contribute to the decision making processes for assessments of the impact and resulting traffic management requirements for works required to facilitate new construction projects including attendance at related traffic management meetings.
  • To make decisions on potential impacts to the public highway and agree the necessary arrangements, conditions or permissions for all works and events including the making of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders.
  • To make decisions on potential impacts to the public highway and agree the necessary arrangements, conditions or permissions for all works and events including the making of some highway licences.
  • To liaise with internal managers exploring impacts of all works, in respect to all planned works and events.
  • To disseminate information on all proposed road works and related closures to all key stakeholders both within and external to the Council.
  • To provide advice and guidance both internally and externally to the network management team and other stakeholders.
  • To carry out such other duties within the competence of the post holder as may be reasonably required from time to time.
