Senior Platform Engineer (Network)

Looking for a Senior Platform Engineer with experience of Cloud Networking, DevOps & automation. This is for a well-established team who have migrated several of their products from on-prem to cloud AWS. The client is looking for experience of cloud networking, secure networks in the cloud to help the client tighter integration with clients.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a Platform Engineering team and play a key role to evolve our secure and highly available infrastructure to support the business through an exciting growth period. You will be responsible for building and managing enterprise grade Hybrid cloud environments, working closely with Application engineering teams to deploy resilient, secure, scalable, and maintainable AWS infrastructure to support new product, as well as continual improvement of the engineering platform and tooling for rapid and safe development cycles.

This would suit a strong DevOps / Infrastructure / Network engineer who is passionate about automation, reliability, performance, and security. Excellent knowledge of AWS cloud and infrastructure automation, including:

  • Infrastructure and configuration as code tooling, e.g. Terraform, Ansible
  • Automation, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code. Build automation and pipeline CI/CD tools e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab
  • Containerisation and container orchestration technologies e.g. Docker, ECS, K8S
  • Data storage & persistence services (RDS, S3, DynamoDB, EBS etc)
  • Infrastructure as code
  • AWS access permissions model, security groups, IAM policies
  • Cloud networking, routing and traffic management (ALB, R53, VPC, Transit
  • Gateway, Direct Connect etc)
  • Key and Certificate setup and management
  • Cloud security tooling
  • Experience of managing message queue technologies (esp. IBM MQ) advantageous
  • The security, reliability and resilience of services is paramount. An understanding of resilient and secure network design in the cloud.

This is working for a well-established Fintech client working in a fast-paced high growth environment. This would suit a real team player, someone who can work in collaboration with other developers and across the business. You will implement DevOps technologies and processes, e.g. containerisation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and increase automation and standardisation to reduce administrative overhead. Advanced knowledge in cloud technologies working with existing and new products.

This is a full time, permanent position, office visits twice per month to London.
