We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer / Active Directory Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. This exciting role will focus on modernising and cleansing the legacy Windows Active Directory/Windows Core Server estate, as well as reviewing and remediating our existing Azure Identity Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve system efficiency and performance.
  • Support and maintain server infrastructure.
  • Assess and enhance the security of the current environment.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation.
  • Manage technical migrations (including Azure migration).
  • Provide technical debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Analyse infrastructure and web applications.
  • Oversee server administration tasks.
  • Utilise automation/DevOps tools and scripting.
  • Archive and cleanse services as required.
  • Provide 3rd line support.
  • Balance technical and administrative workloads.
  • Stay up to date with information security threats and challenges.
  • Work closely with other Operations teams to coordinate infrastructure migrations.
  • Provide expertise in security engineering, incident response, and risk management.

Technical Skills (not limited to):

  • Azure and Corporate Active Directory Services.
  • Microsoft Azure, SSO, MFA, and AD.
  • Windows Server systems (2016/2019/2022).
  • Core networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • PowerShell scripting.
  • ITIL and ITSM frameworks.
  • Exchange 2016 On-Prem.
  • VMware virtualisation.
  • Backup technologies (including Azure Backup, Proact).

Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Certification in Azure Infrastructure.
  • Experience in Windows server administration (2008R2 - 2022).
  • Cluster management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Understanding of operational and application security.

Contract Details:

  • £450 - £550 per day.
  • Contract until 31st February 2025.
  • Inside IR35.
  • Hybrid working: one day per week in the office (Glasgow, London, or Cardiff).
