Infrastructure Engineer – Financial Services – £40-45k - LondonOverview:We are currently partnered with a market-leading financial services organisation who are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join the business. In this role, you would be required to develop, support and maintain the technology infrastructure, systems and services, acting as a technical escalation point for other members of the team, and supporting end users directly as required. The Infrastructure Engineer will be essential in designing and delivering technology solutions, as well as managing the ongoing configuration and maintenance of systems. They will ensure that all infrastructure is up-to-date, secure, and optimized to provide an excellent user experience for all stakeholders.Role & Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows Server 2016+ environments, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Design, deploy, and troubleshoot Active Directory, including Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS services
  • Configure and deploy Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) and manage access and identity using Azure Entra
  • Administer Microsoft Intune for mobile device management (MDM), endpoint protection, and policy enforcement
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for infrastructure-related issues, including root cause analysis and preventative measures
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and other members of the IT team to diagnose and resolve issues relating to the performance and availability of systems
  • Automate processes and optimise infrastructure performance using scripts and tools as necessary
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement new systems, tools, and technologies to meet business needs
  • Proactively monitor systems and identify potential issues that can be mitigated before they become problems, as well as opportunities to improve performance
  • Assist in the triage and response to support requests, providing high quality support and guidance to end users
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Hands-on experience of Microsoft Windows Server 2016+, including Active Directory, group policy, DHCP, DNS
  • Microsoft Azure experience, including Azure Entra and Azure Virtual Machine deployment
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune for device and application management
  • Microsoft365 configuration and administration
  • Understanding of backup principles and solutions, ideally Microsoft Azure Recovery Services
  • Good knowledge of standard support processes, including ticketing, SLAs and asset management
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
