Job Title: Network Engineer - Firewall & Cloud Networking Specialist

Location: London based office teams located / Remote option available

Salary: Up to £65,000

Key Responsibilities

Firewall Management:

  • Maintain and optimize firewall security across our systems, ensuring robust protection against threats.
  • Leverage your proficiency with Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewalls to manage access controls, troubleshoot issues, and implement firewall policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, using this knowledge to improve our network's resilience.

LAN Management:

  • Manage Local Area Networks (LAN) with Cisco Meraki, ensuring high network performance and reliability.
  • Handle configurations, firmware upgrades, and network monitoring to support our business-critical applications.
  • Act as a point of contact for LAN-related inquiries, resolving issues and providing expert guidance to other team members.

Network Migration:

  • Lead and participate in network migration projects, specifically MPLS migrations to SD-WAN.
  • Apply practical SD-WAN experience to optimize network performance, reduce costs, and enhance scalability.
  • Collaborate with global teams to ensure seamless network transitions, minimize disruption, and support stakeholders throughout migration phases.

Cloud Networking:

  • Work with Microsoft Azure's networking services to support our cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient connectivity across platforms.
  • Configure and manage virtual networks, VPN gateways, and network security groups.
  • Monitor Azure networking performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices to enhance our cloud environment's reliability.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Firewall Management Proficiency: Experience with Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewall technologies, with a solid understanding of access controls and security protocols.
  • LAN Expertise: Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki for managing LANs and optimizing local networks.
  • Network Migration Knowledge: Practical experience with SD-WAN, including migrating from MPLS to SD-WAN, with the ability to work across global teams.
  • Cloud Networking Familiarity: Working knowledge of Azure networking services, including virtual networks, VPNs, and network security in cloud environments.
  • Communication & Collaboration Skills: Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration with team members across different regions.
  • Certifications (Desirable): Certifications in Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), Azure (Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator) are a plus.
