About the Firm:A global investment management firm, renowned for its scientific approach to systematic and quantitative trading, is collaborating with Ncounter to recruit a highly skilled Network Specialist. This technology-driven company relies on cutting-edge, low-latency infrastructure, scientific research, and compute farms to maintain its leading position in the financial industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering optimal trading and research platforms through the design, implementation, and management of advanced network solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of scalable, deterministic network solutions in a highly available multi-vendor enterprise / co-location environment.
  • Have a heavy influence on the design, optimization, implementation, monitoring, support, and documentation of network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, software engineers, and other infrastructure teams to deliver state-of-the-art trading platforms.
  • Go-to for Level 2 and Level 3 support, managing escalation and correction of performance and availability issues.

Required:

  • Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science and CCNP certification or higher.
  • Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including:
    • Unicast: OSPF, BGP, NAT, IPSEC and GRE, VRF’s
    • Multicast: PIM, RP, MSDP, IGMP, SSM
    • Switching: STP, PC/vPC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, VLAN/VxLAN
    • Monitoring: LANZ, Sflow, Kibana, Prometheus
    • Security: AAA (Radius/TACACS), control planes, device hardening.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in enterprise or co-location environments with Cisco and Arista product exposure.
  • Preferably use of Cisco’s Unified Communication, Collaboration and Voice technologies.
  • Cyber (Palo Alto, Fortinet) and Cloud (AWS, GCP).
  • Datacenter/office network infrastructure buildout experience with scripting and buildout expertise (Python and Ansible preferred).
  • Proficiency with network diagnostic and performance tools (netcat, tcptrace, Wireshark, etc.).
