Location: Covering London & Surrounding Areas
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (£60,000 OTE)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 08:30am - 5pm
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently supporting one of our established companies specialising in designing and installing bespoke radio solutions in their search for a PMR Systems Engineer to cover London and Surrounding Areas.
The RF Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of professional mobile radio systems used in critical communications environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and configure PMR systems to meet specific communication requirements.
- Implement and integrate PMR solutions, including base stations, repeaters, antennas, and dispatch consoles.
- Perform routine maintenance, testing, and diagnostics on PMR equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to PMR systems and network components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems and minimize downtime
- Utilise technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to design PMR systems.
- Attend client premises to complete site surveys & installations
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field OR, equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a PMR Engineer or in a similar role within the radio communication field.
- Strong knowledge of PMR technologies, including DMR (Digital Mobile Radio), TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio), P25 (Project 25), and other digital radio standards.
- Proficiency in configuring and programming PMR equipment and systems.
- Ability to design PMR systems based on technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience in completing link budgets for distributed antenna & radiation cable systems
- Experience in RF propagation analysis for optimal system performance.
- Familiarity with radio frequency (RF) principles, antenna theory, and propagation concepts.
- Experience with network protocols and IP-based communication in PMR systems.
- Certification in relevant PMR technologies is a plus.
