Spinwell is recruiting for a Principal Systems Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the private sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Detailed understanding of the engineering life-cycle, ability to mentor others in all aspects of the life-cycle.

Able to manage the requirements gathering and analysis process across multiple projects.

Able to lead the development of Architecture Models across multiple projects.

Able to administer and manage commercially available MBSE software, such as Enterprise Architect, DOORS, etc.

Possesses one or more areas of expertise within the defence or commercial engineering sectors.

Able to support Head of Systems Engineering with defining internal engineering processes.

Role Specific Behaviours

Able to facilitate large workshops with SMEs to develop / refine artifacts (Requirements, Architecture Models, etc.).

Able to perform product owner role on projects.

Able to present work to customer and internal stakeholders.

Able to mentor and support up to 10 senior / junior systems engineers across multiple projects.

Proactively manages self development to meet progression aims.

Ability to provide direct line management to senior and junior engineers.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (Desirable)

7+ years of experience in systems engineering

Chartered with relevant engineering institute.

In depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 15288 compliant Systems Engineering methodologies including Model-Based Systems Engineering, Requirements

Engineering and support to Safety and Product Security Engineering activities.

Experience providing Systems Engineering leadership within a major programme across multi-discipline teams.

Experience providing Engineering Management of multi-discipline teams including line management, project reporting, bidding, work package estimation and development and leading design reviews.

Experience in building effective and collaborative customer relationships Experienced in applying Scrum methodologies to engineering delivery.

Experience of systems engineering toolsets including IBM DOORS and Sparx Enterprise Architect.

Experience in analysis techniques using simulation models.

Excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation capabilities.
