Our client is seeking to onboard a Data Lead to support the Sustainability Data Programme.

Description

The successful Data Lead, will be responsible for:

The scope & deliverable for this proposal & capability would be to accomplish the following:

o Data Lead to drive key data activities across data foundations, metric delivery and reporting, bridging the gap between data discovery and ingestion, and metric reporting requirements.

o Onshore/Nearshore Data Lead, working closely with the existing team and stakeholders based in UK and Bangalore across the Sustainability workstreams.

Project Scope and Objectives:

o Manage the relationship between Data Owners and the Data Delivery Squads (Data Foundations and Gaia).

o Helping to plan and coordinate dataset ingestion activities across Sustainability Data Foundation squads.

o Helping to coordinate data modelling and lineage activities to ensure the MSM metric implementation team receive the data they require in a timely manner.

o Tracking and documentation of ongoing data activities across the Sustainability Data Programme.

o Become familiar with the scope of the metrics/KPIs to be delivered with the squad, reporting up to the Sustainability core team on progress in delivery.

Project Timeline:

o Ensure the delivery of curated data stays on schedule by monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments.

o Key milestone is to support the delivery of tranches 1 & 2 of sustainability metrics.

Roles and Responsibilities:

o Take ownership of specific data-related within the project to drive progress and collaboration across squads.

o Coordinate with data product managers, scrum masters and Sustainability team members to ensure seamless collaboration and integration of efforts.

Data Sources and Collection Methods:

o Oversee the identification and ingestion of relevant data sources.

o Implement and manage methods for accurate data collection and verification, working with the cross-functional team.

o Ensure data modelling activities are coordinated between Data Foundation squads and the MSM implementation team, bridging the gap between data ingestion and downstream reporting requirements.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

o Utilise appropriate tools and software for managing required tasks, risks and dependencies, including Jira, Aha and Confluence.

o Work with the Data Ops squad to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data being ingested.

o Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting key findings and insights.

Risk Management:

o Identify potential risks and challenges within their area of responsibility.

o Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks.

Communication Plan:

o Manage communication within the squads and the Sustainability Leadership team to ensure clear and consistent information flow.

o Utilise regular communication channels and maintain a schedule for updates and progress reports in line with defined project governance cadence.

o Communication with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements to feed down into the delivery team, tracking any changes.

Compliance and Standards:

o Ensure adherence to relevant sustainability standards and regulations within their scope.

o Implement processes to maintain compliance with data principles and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Profile

Skill requirements:

路 Data domain expertise, including an understanding of data governance, modelling and engineering principles and ways of working.

路 Strong Stakeholder engagement and management.

路 Agile delivery experience; road-mapping, reporting, story writing (Jira & Confluence).

路 Strong data Platforms/Foundations technical experience.

路 Experience in the Sustainability domain desirable, but not essential.

Essential

路 Experience as a Data Product Manager / Owner or similar roles in a product-led environment within R&D, QSC, Customer, Consumer, Finance, HR etc.

路 Managed product backlogs and prioritisation for data-driven products.

路 Hands on technical experience advantageous (i.e. Data Analytics, Data Modelling, Data Engineering, Cloud Platforms, BI).

路 Knowledge Data Governance processes and best practices.

路 Demonstrated ability to effectively convey complex requirements and work to a mixture of senior technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a focus on value and prioritisation.

路 Experience working within a Data Office and/or Data Platforms business area.

路 Experience working and delivering through an agile methodology to deliver rapid value to business stakeholders.

路 Strong Data Analytics skills to support and enable technical data teams.

路 Product management skills, including interpersonal skills, research, communications (esp. listening), demonstrated influence, and the ability to have crucial and difficult conversations.

Preferred

路 A knowledge of the FMCG or Sustainability industries and external perspective on challenges and innovation opportunities.

路 Significant experience successfully delivering complex projects to a high standard and within short timeframes. Desirable recent examples of delivery of data or technology products/projects.

路 Experience working with MS Purview of other data cataloguing tools.

Job Offer

The successful Data Lead, will have the opportunity to work within the pharmaceuticals sector in London.

o 拢450-550 p/day (IR35 TBC)

o Initially until 30-June-2025, with potential to extend through 31-December via CR.

o Hours: 9am to 5:30pm GMT.
