Our client is seeking a Data Operations Lead to ensure the seamless delivery and optimization of established data capabilities across their global operations. This pivotal role will manage day-to-day data operations, improve processes, and drive interactions between stakeholders, site data teams, and regional data teams. The successful candidate will create a more structured, proactive operational environment integral to achieving a balanced focus on operations, strategy, and innovative data solutions.

As a Data Operations Lead, your role will be central to ensuring the smooth running of our client's global operations. You will oversee daily operations across various domains including data engineering, science, product development, and analytics. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be put to good use as you identify areas for improvement in these processes. You'll also have the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills by mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative environment. Your ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders will be crucial in promoting effective prioritization and decision-making.

  • Lead daily operations across data engineering, data science, data product, and data analytics functions.
  • Coordinate and optimize workflows across these data domains.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for escalations within these functions.
  • Identify and implement improvements across all data processes.
  • Design and track performance metrics for all data operations.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provide operational and governance support for key data initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop team members across all data functions.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Data Operations Lead position brings a wealth of experience in managing complex data operations. With at least 8 years of experience in the field, you have honed your skills in managing diverse teams and navigating the challenges of large, multi-location organizations. Your educational background in Data Science or a related field equips you with the technical knowledge necessary to excel in this role. Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to build lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Above all else, your strategic thinking allows you to balance the immediate needs of day-to-day operations with the long-term goals of the organization.

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Certification in DataOps/DevOps or relevant Project Management (e.g., Agile/Scrum) is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data operations, data management or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience in a large, multi-location organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage expectations and build relationships.
  • Ability to balance day-to-day operational needs with long-term strategy.
  • Comfortable making critical decisions.
