A leading Arts organisation are looking for a Systems Manager to manage 3 database systems for them. All three are database systems built on SQL and you will have ownership of them and manage an Analyst who will support you and the systems.
The role is hybrid and offers a good benefits package.
Responsibility
- Be the organisations subject matter expert on business systems
- Build system and organisational expertise to enable best in kind technical support and solutions
- Establish and actively maintain a good rapport with business systems users, providing a "translation" between business needs and technical implementation
- Business analysis, manage & implement business applications change and transformation:
- Scope, analyse and build business requirements for development specifications that enable process improvement and better data management
- Project management of small to medium sized projects
- Work with internal and external resources towards the development of new system functionality
- Provide support to users on the database applications:
- Oversee the Digital Systems helpdesk responding to support requests according to SLAs, and work towards continual improvement of team KPIs
- Make sure user requests are prioritised & resolved efficiently through analysis, investigation and trouble-shooting of software and system functionality
- Ownership of any escalated problems through to resolution, which may include selecting and coordinating the appropriate channel or resource
- Line management of the Application Support Analyst
- Oversee workload and performance
- Ensure ongoing development
- Continual system training delivery for staff
- Follow industry standards and best practice relating to data processing, database management to provide high-quality business information to provide high-quality business information
Experience
- Enterprise database application management experience (preferably from events or arts & culture sectors)
- Working experience of the application support lifecycle and project management with the ability to drive projects from conception to release
- Conducting business analysis to produce requirements, analyse options, and design business solutions
- System testing and organising UAT
- Good grasp of data management, including reporting, data quality, and data analysis
- Solution focused with a strong problem solving approach
- Delivering IT system training or teaching
- Relational database & SQL knowledge and understanding
