Robert Half is supporting their client, a leading Global Consulting Firm, in their search for an IT Risk Management Consultant with expertise in IT Risk Frameworks, IT Disaster Recovery (IT DR), and Major Incident Management within financial services or investment banking. This role will support a global consulting firm and their end client, a leading global investment banking firm, in developing and embedding IT risk management, ITDR, and major incident management processes to align with regulatory requirements, including DORA.
Assignment Details:
Location: London (Hybrid Working - 3 days per week in-office, flexible remote working for the right candidate)
Duration: Initial 3 months (strong likelihood of extension for implementation)
Day Rate: £650 p/day via PAYE (employer's NI & tax deducted at source - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP, subject to onboarding (standard financial & criminal background checks apply)
Key Responsibilities:
The IT Risk Management Consultant will assess the client's IT risk landscape, develop an actionable roadmap, and drive improvements across the following areas:
IT Risk Management & Governance
- Develop and implement an IT risk management framework aligned with industry best practices and regulatory expectations.
- Provide recommendations on IT risk policies and support governance structures such as IT risk committees.
- Maintain an IT risk register, define risk ownership and accountability (RACI), and establish risk reporting mechanisms.
- Support the development of monitoring and reporting strategies to enhance IT risk oversight.
IT Disaster Recovery (IT DR)
- Support the execution of IT disaster recovery (IT DR) improvement initiatives.
- Develop structured disaster recovery plans tailored to critical business services.
- Establish review cycles and integrate scenario-based testing into IT DR planning.
- Define asset mapping strategies and enhance IT DR awareness through training.
- Align IT DR processes with broader incident response and business continuity frameworks.
Major Incident Management (MIM)
- Design and implement improvements to the major incident management process.
- Provide training and structured walkthroughs for IT teams to improve incident response.
- Enhance incident management capabilities by aligning processes with regulatory and industry standards.
- Establish foundational problem management processes to improve long-term resilience.
- Conduct maturity assessments to identify areas for enhancement in incident response and resolution.
Requirements:
- Strong IT risk management and governance experience, ideally within financial services or investment banking.
- Deep knowledge of IT risk frameworks, disaster recovery (IT DR), and major incident management.
- Understanding of DORA, operational risk management policies, and RCSAs.
- Experience in establishing risk monitoring dashboards and governance frameworks.
- ITIL background with hands-on experience in incident and problem management.
- Ability to assess existing processes and deliver actionable improvement plans.
- Strong stakeholder management, collaborating with Heads of Operational Resilience and IT leadership.
