Insurance broking client of ours is looking for a Technical IT Operations Manager to join their team.
The Technical IT Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems, and leading the technical team. This role involves planning, coordinating, and managing all technical IT functions, including system administration, network operations, and support services.
Experience required:
- Experience working within the insurance industry or with a broker using Open Twins
- Experience managing 1st & 2nd Line support teams
- Experience managing teams delivering critical infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with network management, system administration, and IT infrastructure.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of IT security, data privacy, and compliance regulations.
- Experience with project management and IT service management frameworks.
- ITIL or other relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP) are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of insurance/broking IT systems, networks, and hardware, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Ensure effective management of IT infrastructure, including cloud-based systems, data centres, and local servers.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the technical IT team, including system administrators, network engineers, and support staff.
- Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to understand their technical needs and provide solutions.
- Plan, implement, and manage IT-related projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new infrastructure deployments
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful completion within scope.
- Oversee incident management and troubleshoot critical IT issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal downtime.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and network services.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and best practices (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
