We are seeking a Change and Release Manager to ensure the reliability and security of essential services. This role involves managing the impact, priority, schedule, and authorisation of changes, as well as overseeing the agile change and release processes. This position offers the chance to work on a project of national importance, implementing best practices and seeking continuous improvement in all processes.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage agile IT change and release management processes, ensuring adherence by suppliers, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure that change and release strategies are relevant and continuously improved using best-in-class tools and methodologies.
  • Engage key stakeholders timely for relevant changes/releases and manage communications impacting the industry.
  • Coordinate with internal and external test/assurance resources to maintain the integrity of production environments.
  • Track and report on Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for change and release.
  • Publish release and change schedules to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Chair Operational Change Control Boards and release planning meetings, providing approvals as needed.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all decisions related to changes and releases and act as an escalation point.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage changes and releases, ensuring alignment with business values and policy adherence.
  • Experience managing suppliers to meet business needs and performance targets.
  • Demonstrated experience in change and release management with a capability to enhance processes towards full maturity.
  • Strong collaborative skills, able to work effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to provide effective feedback and identify issues through Agile ‘health checks’.
  • Knowledge of process optimisation and experience in implementing proposed solutions.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and prioritising issues with suppliers and colleagues to identify root causes and resolutions.
  • ITIL service management qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, capable of meeting deadlines.
