Technical Field Operations Lead
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced IT Field Operations Manager to lead and develop my client's technical team. This key role demands a balance of technical acumen, leadership ability, and a focus on enhancing operational standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Supervise, guide, and mentor a team of senior/3rd-line field and remote engineers.
- Establish and refine processes to boost team efficiency, training initiatives, and documentation quality.
- Hold regular performance reviews, provide actionable insights, and set clear targets.
Technical Management
- Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex third-line technical challenges.
- Manage and maintain core infrastructure, including Windows Servers (Apply online only)), Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and advanced networking setups (VLANs, DNS, firewalls).
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards such as Cyber Essentials and GDPR.
Project Oversight
- Take charge of major IT initiatives, including infrastructure modernization and system upgrades.
- Conduct client site assessments and support pre-sales engagements.
- Close documentation gaps, ensuring all processes and systems are meticulously recorded.
Client Collaboration
- Build trusted relationships with clients, offering expert guidance on technical solutions.
- Represent the company in client discussions and contribute to pre-sales efforts.
Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 7-10 years in IT, including roles with team management responsibilities.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and consistently deliver exceptional results.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Servers, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and networking technologies (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet).
- Experience with tools like SolarWinds, VMware, and advanced imaging systems.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong organizational capabilities and a track record of implementing structured workflows.
Additional Requirements
- Relevant certifications or qualifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNP).
- Valid UK driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
