Project Manager - Data Centres & Structured Cabling

My client is a major player in the Data Centre space.

Role Overview:The Project Manager will oversee Whitespace & Technology Infrastructure projects across the EMEA region, ensuring successful delivery and client satisfaction. This role involves managing client relationships, driving business growth, and ensuring project excellence within Data Centre Solutions.

Key Responsibilities/Areas of Knowledge:

• Understanding of the structured cabling and construction market.
• Knowledge of the data centre industry and whitespace infrastructure.
• Familiarity with project management methodology.
• Broad understanding of construction health and safety laws with data centres.
• Financial terminology knowledge.
• Report on major data centre developments in the region.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and existing clients.
• Drive growth in Whitespace/Technology Infrastructure projects.
• Lead the development of project opportunities and deliver contractual commitments.
• Support the sales process through solution development and presentations.
• Develop and manage bids, tenders, and proposals.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and exceed expectations.
• Identify and manage risks associated with projects.
• Build relationships with industry manufacturers and distributors.
• Ensure compliance with project management policies and procedures.
• Maintain healthy and safe working conditions.
• Develop project financial plans and ensure positive cash flow.
• Manage project delivery within budget to maximise profit.
• Ensure statutory, policy, and contractual commitments are met.
• Identify opportunities for strategic development to increase turnover and profitability.
• Collaborate with other operational managers to develop the projects business.
• Maintain effective relationships with key client contacts to identify and win project opportunities.
• Demonstrate credibility and leadership in influencing project outcomes.
• Manage client relationships at project levels and act as an advisor.
• Align customer needs with project delivery.
• Manage issue escalation and resolution.
• Provide direct support for account teams and manage reporting responsibilities.
• Offer technical support and training for the project team.
• Manage a diverse environment with multi-regional responsibilities.
• Assist in the financial performance of Whitespace Projects.
• Manage project delivery and scope interpretation.
• Ensure fulfilment of commitments to customers.
• Engage executive involvement to leverage broader portfolio services.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the Technology/ICT sector, specifically structured cabling.
• Proven experience of developing new project opportunities.
• Demonstrable evidence of team management.
• Experience of creating, presenting, and managing bids, tenders, and proposals.
• Experience of running a P&L.
