Senior MI Developer

Fully Remote£65,000 - £75,000

A leading financial services company is seeking a Senior MI Developer with fantastic communication and cross-business collaboration skills. This role offers the opportunity to step into a managerial understudy position within a small Management Information (MI) team. The position involves overseeing and enhancing data processing using SQL Server, identifying risks related to data handling, and improving MI operations. The successful candidate will troubleshoot issues, resolve bugs, and address root causes of data problems. Applicants with experience in regulated industries are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Auditable Data Processing:Ensure data processes are fully auditable, independent of resources, and internally consistent. Oversee team compliance with data management processes and promptly address data issues.
  • Reporting & Data Models:Maintain the Report Register and manage reporting demands. Design and implement data models to support business reporting.
  • Support MI Manager:Assist the MI manager with Data Warehouse and Management Information objectives, progressively taking on greater team management responsibilities.
  • Data Warehouse Development:Optimise and expand the Data Warehouse platform using SQL Server tools (e.g. stored procedures, SSIS) with plans to extend into PowerBI. Monitor data governance through quality metrics.
  • GDPR Compliance:Ensure all data processing within the Data Warehouse complies with GDPR requirements.
  • Audit & Reconciliation:Ensure all data processes reconcile both internally and externally with data sources

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Skills:
    • Expertise in MI reporting and risk management within regulated industries.
    • Strong teamwork and customer focus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Flexible, positive attitude with strong prioritisation abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Hands-on experience with SQL Server.
