If so, Signature Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity for a Freedom of Information Officer to join a University in London. This is a full-time, temporary position with an immediate start for a three-month contract. The role is offered on a remote basis with just two to three two days in the office throughout the placement. The pay is £330 per day offered as an Umbrella Rate.
As a Freedom of Information Officer, you will manage Freedom of Information requests from start to finish following process and procedure. You will ensure timely responses, accurate tracking, and collaboration with others as necessary to uphold transparency and accountability. In addition. you will liaise with various departments to gather, assess, and prepare information for disclosure, ensuring that all requests are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
Freedom of Information Officer Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the coordination, preparation, and formulation of responses to requests received under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act
- Managing and triaging requests from a busy inbox. To include logging information to a spreadsheet, assigning a reference number and tracking and ensuring up to date and accurate records are maintained
- Providing specialist advice, guidance, and support on the relevant legislation including preparing responses for review
- Managing responses to enquiries from the Information Commissioners Office
- Running regular reports on FOI request statuses in order to providing reminders to information owners on response deadlines
- Ensuring the Data Protection Officer is fully briefed in respect of FOIs recognising and escalating serious issues
Freedom of Information Officer Key Skills:
- Experience working in a similar Freedom of Information role. Demonstrating the ability to manage sensitive or regulated information, ensuring compliance with relevant standards. Ideally with a Higher Education setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the good interpersonal skills to liaise with all stakeholders
- A strong work ethic showing good organisation with the ability to balance a busy workload. Confidence to work independently and maintain exceptional attention to detail
- Highly Proficient IT skills
