Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Manager with an insurance business in London. You will manage the network and server infrastructure of the company. You will be tasked with the duties of covering the security of the company’s computer systems and electronic data, development and implementation of customised systems and overseeing all computer-related activities.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all IT functions of the company, you will need to have expert knowledge of the industry’s best practices and stay up-to-date with advances.
  • Supervising daily operations of network and server infrastructure
  • Aligning IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals
  • Managing IT budgets, forecast, handling cash flow and enforcing cost-effectiveness
  • Evaluating risk, developing network recovery and backup processes
  • Assessing and purchasing new and replacement hardware
  • Assuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes and regulations
  • Testing, troubleshooting and adjusting information systems to operate effectively
  • Implementing security of the network, data and its storage and communication systems

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Prioritise, handle risk, control costs, adhere to timelines and manage project teams
  • Working knowledge of in-house computer networks and the ability to explain complex systems and the changes made necessary to identify upgrades.
  • Knowledge of or experience in cloud architecture.
  • includes leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
  • Experience with databases, database storage systems and phone systems are required as well.
  • The IT Manager must have two to five years’ experience in IT operations or two-plus years of IT department supervisory experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Google Apps administration, Microsoft Windows, service desk and network administration is also necessary for the role.
  • Proven record of problem-solving and project management skills.
