IT Point of Sale (POS) Project Manager - £600-£650 per day - Inside IR35 - 6 months with extension - Remote with occasional attendance to an office in central London.

We have an opportunity with one of the UK’s largest retailers with a network of branches nationwide. The team is composed of passionate professionals dedicated to driving the future of retail technology. The client is seeking a highly skilled IT Point of Sale (POS) Project Manager to join their team and lead the implementation and optimisation of our POS systems.

Job Description:

As an IT Point of Sale (POS) Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of POS system projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, finance, and customer support, to ensure that our POS solutions meet the highest standards of functionality, reliability, and user satisfaction. Your role will be pivotal in driving the success of our retail technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management of POS system implementations, upgrades, and optimizations.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure project alignment and delivery.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular project status updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure project objectives are met.
  • Train and support end-users on new POS systems and features.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in POS technology to drive continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the retail or hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of POS systems, hardware, software, and related technologies.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello).
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies is a plus.
