IT Project Manager - R&D/MedTech/Pharma systems

6 Month Contract - Inside IR35 (Umbrella/PAYE)

Remote / Paddington

My client who are a specialised technology company are looking to recruit an IT Project Manager for R&D/MedTech/Pharma systems to join them on an initial 6-month contract, working with their team based in London Paddington. The IT Project Manager for R&D/MedTech/Pharma systems will focus on the implementation of small, medium and large projects including key digital systems.

Key Responsibilities for the IT Project Manager for R&D/MedTech/Pharma systems:

  1. Project Leadership:
    1. Lead end-to-end project lifecycle for software projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
    2. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising resources and efforts effectively.
    3. Define project objectives, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
    4. Ensure authorised projects have the appropriate resources and funding assigned to them.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement:
    1. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Global Marketing & Sales, regulatory, IT, and external vendors.
    2. Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure requirements are accurately captured and delivered.
  3. System Implementation:
    1. Oversee the implementation of software, ensuring integration with existing platforms and compliance with data security standards.
    2. Manage the development and enhancement of company websites, ensuring they meet accessibility, usability, and branding standards.
    3. Ensure release procedures and appropriate governance are adhered to.
  4. Compliance and Data Privacy:
    1. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and industry standards throughout the program lifecycle. Oversee the deployment of customer consent management systems to ensure data privacy compliance.
  5. Risk and Issue Management:
    1. Identify potential risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
    2. Resolve project issues in a timely and effective manner to minimize disruption to business operations.
  6. Team Leadership:
    1. Mentor and guide project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
    2. Evaluate performance metrics and implement continuous improvement practices for programme delivery.

Key skills and experience for the IT Project Manager for R&D/MedTech/Pharma systems

  • Experienced R&D IT PM i.e. R&D/MedTech/Pharma systems - Clinical, SaMD, Regulatory, PPM/PMO tools
  • Experience working in regulated industry, good understanding of FDA, CSV, GXP compliance, MD Regulations etc.
  • Prior experience managing third parties incl. vendor SaaS/COTS applications, service providers and support partners
  • R&D IT Tool certifications e.g. Veeva
  • Core IT expertise in Infrastructure, networking, solution design and architecture incl. understanding system integrations and migrations project delivery experience
  • Prior experience in managing large and complex projects incl. Budgeting and Financials management.
