IT Project Manager - London Borough - £500 per day Inside IR35

Salt Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join a London Borough on an exciting and high-impact project. This role will focus on leading the planning, procurement, and rollout of new laptops, Windows 11, and associated Intune deliverables to all council staff, including VIPs and key stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled IT professional with a background in large-scale IT deployment projects within the public sector, who can navigate procurement processes and implement effective support models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of the laptop refresh program, including Windows 11 migration and Intune configuration.
  • Oversee procurement processes in line with public sector guidelines, ensuring compliance and value for money.
  • Develop and implement a robust rollout strategy to ensure minimal disruption to council operations.
  • Engage and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including VIPs, technical teams, and suppliers.
  • Establish and oversee support models to address issues pre and post-deployment.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Be present on-site one day per week as the project progresses.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale IT projects within a local authority, central government, or similar public sector environment.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes within the public sector, including frameworks and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 11 deployment and Microsoft Intune.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Contract Details:

  • Location: Central London (1 day on-site per week required)
  • Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR35)
  • Contract Type: 3-month rolling contract
