Project Manager - Cut & Carve Projects (London)
Locations: Covering Central London sites
Contract: Permanent
Rate: Up to £425 a day (experience dependant)
We're working with a well-established and growing main contractor looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to take the lead on complex cut and carve schemes across London. This role would suit if you've got a strong background in structural alterations, temporary works, and complex refurbishments.
About the role:
You'll be responsible for managing challenging structural modification projects, from heavy cut and carve works to significant temporary works and demolitions, ensuring they're delivered safely, on time, and on budget. This is a hands-on role that will see you liaising with clients, design teams, and subcontractors, keeping all aspects of the project running smoothly and to the highest standards.
What you'll be doing:
- Running cut and carve projects from early planning stages through to completion
- Overseeing all site activities, ensuring safety and quality are never compromised
- Coordinating closely with structural engineers, temporary works designers, and subcontractors
- Monitoring programme schedules and costs, addressing any risks or issues before they escalate
- Making sure temporary works designs are in place, understood, and implemented correctly on site
- Maintaining full compliance with health and safety regulations, and promoting a proactive site culture
- Leading project teams with a practical, solutions-focused approach
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience delivering complex cut and carve or structural alteration projects
- Strong understanding of temporary works coordination and structural sequencing
- A solid track record of managing budgets, timelines, and problem-solving on challenging jobs
- Familiarity with complex inner-city projects where space, logistics, and safety are key
- SMSTS, First Aid, and ideally Temporary Works certifications.
What's on offer:
- Up to £425 a day (self-employed or PAYE), depending on experience. Open to negotiation.
- The chance to work on landmark London projects with a company that values expertise and initiative.
