The role of Project Manager reports directly into the Head of Client Delivery. Main responsibility of the role is the successful and effective delivery of external and internal projects, achieved by focusing on delivery within agreed timescales, budgets and quality requirements. This involves taking functional requirements specifications through the development life cycle to end user testing, installation, data conversion and operational running while setting and maintaining realistic client expectations. To facilitate this, you will be required to Matrix manage a number of varied roles dependent on the project type and size.

You will operate in a project team environment on either Eurobase or customer premises, which could be overseas. Therefore, some mobility will be required, including the need to travel if the requirement arises. Proven experience is essential, you must have managed several successful projects and be able to demonstrate that this has occurred in either the insurance or similar industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing projects through all project life cycle stages.
  • Supporting pre-sales and study activity as required.
  • Putting together project teams based on consultation with Operational Management Team.
  • Provide regular progress reporting to internal and external stakeholders - identifying, escalating and managing risks and issues effectively.
  • Management and control of scope and changes in scope ensuring Eurobase’s interests are protected, making use to the change management process as required.
  • Management and control of complex projects budgets in line with established Eurobase processes.
  • Maintain regular contact with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Provide 'Progress Reports’ to internal and external stakeholders as agreed with the Operational Management Team, providing key information on; budgets, timelines, quality and scope. Reports to be discussed with the external and internal executive sponsors during a monthly steering committee.
  • Ensure that the end product/delivery to the customer adheres to agreed specifications.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of project managing software implementations in a disciplined development & delivery environment.
  • Experience working within a recognised project governance process such as PRINCE2, ITIL.
  • Experience of delivering within the financial sector.
  • Experience working with external client and managing their expectations.
  • Solid understanding and practitioner of recognized project governance processes such as PRINCE2, ITIL.
  • Awareness of the full software development life cycle.
  • An excellent commercial awareness with a solid understanding of delivering projects on a commercial basis (time and materials).
  • An assertive and pro-active management style with a high level of awareness of contractual and commercial management.
  • Excellent team building and motivational skills.
  • A team player with high energy levels, the will to succeed for project and client.
  • Good communication abilities, written and verbal, including presentation skills; Ability to communicate effectively at different organisational levels whether internally or externally.
