About the RoleGTS Transportation is proud to support our client, a respected leader in the transportation sector, as they seek an experienced and dynamic Project Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to spearhead the procurement and implementation of a cutting-edge Resource and Planning Suite, a key initiative driving efficiency and innovation in rail operations.

As Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of this high-impact project, collaborating with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors. From tender and procurement processes to integration and post-implementation review, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of the Resource and Planning Suite project, including tendering, procurement, implementation, and demobilisation of existing systems.
  • Act as a key liaison between stakeholders, technical teams, and the client, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain risk and dependency registers, oversee budgets, and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards and operational requirements while delivering user training and operational readiness.
  • Lead change management efforts to guarantee the smooth integration of new systems into existing operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience managing complex IT system implementations and procurement projects, ideally within the rail sector.
  • Strong understanding of tender processes, vendor selection, and governance.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders, including senior executives and operational teams.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile, or similar (certifications are a plus).
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
