Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team at Reed Professional Services, working closely with our client's expanding Commercial IT and Parcels team. This role involves end-to-end accountability for managing one or more technology-related projects, varying in scale and complexity.

Day-to-Day of the Role:
  • Manage all levels of stakeholders and implement an appropriate communication plan.
  • Support in securing investment by providing time, resource, and cost estimates along with risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions.
  • Mobilisation: Production and distribution of all key mobilisation artefacts such as RACI matrices, Project Initiation Documents, collaboration tools, running project initiation workshops, and implementing governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering change projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven matrix management capability and decision-making experience among managers at varying levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, tailored to a broad audience.
  • Ability to demonstrate resilience, persistence, and drive to maintain progress and resolve issues.
  • Effective delegation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to maintain a sense of perspective and remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Strong stakeholder and people management skills.
  • Commercial acumen and value-driven supplier management.
  • Financial management skills.
  • Good technical knowledge and experience to support the project team in issue resolution and escalation if needed.
  • Innovative and creative thinking; proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of both traditional and modern software/IT development lifecycles (Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall).
Desirable Skills:
  • Technical Domain Experience – System integration, building frameworks & developing APIs and messaging standards.
  • Experience working in Agile/Lean teams using SCRUM, KANBAN, XP delivery process frameworks.
  • Continuous Improvement knowledge and experience.
  • Awareness of best practices in Product Management, Architecture/Design, Testing, and DevOps which support Agile/Lean.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Jira, HP Application Lifecycle Management, and MS Office tools.
  • Supplier Management Experience – managing single to multiple external suppliers.
