Job Title: Senior Test Engineer
Day Rate: £500 - £550 per day
Contract Length: 12 months
Working Style: Hybrid 2 days in office 3 days WFH
Our client, a leading organisation in the Central Government industry, is seeking a talented Senior Test Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team for a fixed-term contract. As a Senior Test Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that our client's services meet user needs and contribute to making better government through smarter use of technology.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings to align with project goals and timelines.
- Create robust, risk-based test suites suitable for automation.
- Conduct database testing, including creating SQL queries and using validation tools.
- Collaborate with developers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and best practises in software testing.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practises.
- Strong analytical skills for creating comprehensive test suites.
- Knowledge of Ruby and its use in a Cucumber BDD implementation.
- Proficiency in Web Browser automation using Selenium and other tools.
- Experience with test frameworks scaling using Kubernetes.
- Proficient in version control systems like Git.
- Continuous learning mindset and active participation in the engineering community.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Web User Interface testing tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman.
- Experience in performance testing and monitoring.
- Technical knowledge of setting up monitoring dashboards.
