Job Purpose:We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver projects and workstreams within the national and/or London Counter Terrorism and Protective Security (CT & PS) complex change portfolio. You will be accountable for the day-to-day management and delivery of projects across the change lifecycle, ensuring that objectives are met within time, cost, and quality constraints.

The Project Manager will work within the Project and Programme Management (PPM) team of CTPHQ's Change Pillar, which is responsible for managing a portfolio of Counter Terrorism and Protective Security projects and programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead discrete projects or work packages, reporting to a Senior Project Manager or Senior Responsible Owner.
  • Manage blended teams (staff and contractors) and maintain project governance products such as risk registers, project plans, and issue trackers.
  • Ensure projects maintain a defined PPM maturity, as per Portfolio Office standards.
  • Develop and manage business cases through the CTPHQ governance process.
  • Coordinate workshops, maintain accurate project documentation, and manage Change Control Requests.
  • Establish regular reporting cycles and prepare summary dashboards for decision-makers.
  • Manage project resources, suppliers, and commercial arrangements.
  • Ensure project outputs align with the standards and requirements set by the Portfolio Office.

Skills:

  • Advanced: Use of Portfolio Office templates, minute taking.
  • Intermediate: Stakeholder management, project management, PPM governance, creative problem-solving, benefits management, reporting, risk analysis, and management.
  • Foundation: Benefits mapping and profiling, workshop facilitation.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in project and programme management environments, preferably in government, security agencies, or policing.
  • Knowledge of MSP, Agile, and PRINCE2 methodologies.
  • Experience in ICT or technical project delivery.
  • Experience with project control mechanisms and project governance.

Qualifications:

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent qualification.
  • Civil Service Contract Management Foundation.
