Walter Everett is a specialist recruitment agency currently assisting our client in the search for an AWS Technical Security Architect. This role is a strategic and technical position focused on designing and implementing secure AWS-based solutions for cloud infrastructure. As a Technical Security Architect, you will work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to define and implement solutions adhering to best security practices.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement AWS-based security architectures for multi-tier applications, microservices, and serverless environments with a strong emphasis on security by design.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define security architectures for cloud services, ensuring compliance with security policies and best practices.
- Provide expert guidance on AWS security products and services, such as IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, CloudTrail, Macie, VPN, and more.
- Lead design reviews and create documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD).
- Ensure the security of cloud-native applications through secure coding practices, threat modeling, and secure CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Assist in refactoring applications to Kubernetes on AWS, embedding security principles throughout the design and deployment process.
- Provide advice on security compliance requirements and best practices within AWS environments.
- Act as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting vulnerabilities and risks in AWS ecosystems.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS architecture, security products, and cloud services.
- Strong expertise in multi-tier architectures, microservices, serverless solutions, and Kubernetes on AWS.
- Deep knowledge of AWS security services, such as IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, CloudWatch, and more.
- Proven experience in software or infrastructure engineering within public cloud environments (specifically AWS).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and associated tools.
- Ability to collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to define and implement secure solutions.
- Experience securing containerized applications in cloud-native environments, particularly Kubernetes.
- Practitioner-level cloud security skills with a focus on hands-on experience using AWS security tools.
- Strong solution architecture background, especially within cloud and security domains.
- Experience designing and reviewing AWS environments and creating detailed documentation (HLD, LLD).
- Expertise in AWS security and compliance best practices, including familiarity with regulatory standards and frameworks.
- Knowledge of non-AWS security technologies such as vulnerability management, SIEM, PAM, EDR, IDPS, Firewalls, Threat Intelligence, DLP, Pen Testing, etc.
- AWS Certifications (Preferred):
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- AWS Certified Security - Specialty
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
