Role Profile: Data Protection Team DPIA Specialist

Main Purpose: To provide expert advice and guidance on privacy and data protection compliance, focusing on complex DPIAs and managing Data Protection projects. Support the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and team members as a subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Data Protection DPIA projects, ensuring compliance and effective coordination.
  • Manage team input for DPIAs, ensuring business understanding and implementation of mitigating actions.
  • Create and maintain project records, assist with compliance programs, and produce reports and KPIs.
  • Provide high-quality, consistent advice to colleagues and stakeholders, supporting training and development.
  • Cover for Team Leaders as needed, including breach management.
  • Raise team profile and ensure privacy practices are communicated and understood.
  • Support the DPO in monitoring and delivering ongoing GDPR compliance, including data mapping, policy drafting, and audit programs.
  • Ensure contracts and information sharing arrangements are GDPR compliant.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience managing data protection projects and compliance programs.
  • Knowledge of data protection legislation and practical application.
  • Skilled in creating documents, diagrams, and maintaining records.
  • Understanding of the Affordable Housing Sector.
  • Relevant professional data protection qualification.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work both autonomously and in a team.
  • Experienced presenter.

Desirable:

  • Project management qualification/training.
  • Experience managing or supervising a data protection team.
