We are recruiting for our client, who is seeking an experienced and proactive IT Security Manager / Cyber Security Manager to take charge of their cybersecurity efforts. This role is pivotal in safeguarding the organisation’s IT infrastructure and ensuring that data is protected against cyber threats. This is 6-month contract role with options to extend or become permanent. Hybrid working 1 to 2 days in the Central London office.

Key Responsibilities

Cybersecurity Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with the organisation’s objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Head of IT to oversee and manage the cybersecurity function.
  • Conduct a procurement gap analysis to strengthen internal controls and ensure best practices.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and establish security measures to protect against cyber-attacks.
  • Maintain resilient backup systems and test recovery processes for effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity legislation.

Collaboration and Training:

  • Engage with stakeholders across departments to define IT security needs and promote best practices.
  • Lead cybersecurity training sessions to enhance awareness and knowledge within the organisation.
  • Provide regular updates on cybersecurity projects to committees and the Board of Trustees.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT security management.
  • Relevant IT qualifications (e.g., Bachelor’s Degree in IT, CISSP).
  • Strong understanding of IT security strategies and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, with strong time management and prioritisation skills.
