London Fire Brigade - Infrastructure Support Analyst
As a key support service, the delivery of high quality ICT services is crucial to the efficient, effective and economic achievement of the Brigade's key purpose. In particular, ICT systems that provide operationally critical functions and the technical infrastructure that supports them have a direct bearing on the Brigade’s ability to provide an efficient firefighting, rescue and community fire safety services to the people of London.
Your role will be to establish and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Brigade’s Server and storage environments, ensuring that the effective operations of all systems are maintained. Current standards and duties (referred to collectively hereinafter as “the Brigade’s Server Environment”) include:
- Hypervisor Platforms - Microsoft & VMware
- Current Microsoft Server Operating Systems
- Microsoft System Center Suite of products
- Microsoft Active Directory Services
- Microsoft Exchange
- Powershell/Scripting/Automation
- Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation
- Cloud Technology (Azure/Entra ID/M365)
You should demonstrate the following skills:
- Experience of designing, developing and/or maintaining a server environment in a large multi-user organisation with experience of at least 3 of the following :
- Hypervisor Platforms - Microsoft & VMware
- Current Microsoft Server Operating Systems
- Microsoft System Center Suite of products
- Microsoft Active Directory Services
- Microsoft Exchange
- HP and Dell Hardware (Servers)
- Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation
- Cloud Technology (Azure/M365)
