Professional Services (Linux Admin, Storage, NFS, Networking) - South East, UKInnovative and highly technical provider of software defined storage solutions for HPC / high performance computing applications are looking for a motivated and experienced Linux systems administrator to join their professional services engineer team. The role will be working with a range of new and existing clients primarily within the media and entertainment sector to implement, consult and support the range of products provided. This will involve physical installation, configuration, networking, upgrading and performance monitoring / support to ensure clients get full benefit from the product’s innovative capabilities. You will need to have a strong technical background within system administration with deep knowledge of Linux (CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu) as well as knowledge of Windows and ServerOS. You will have strong Scripting experience with Bash, Python, Shell or similar. SAMBA / SMB experience would be an advantage. Networking skills in a NAS environment, with possibly some cabling, racking and hardware installation is involved. You will also need an understanding of enterprise data Storage solutions, NAS, DAS, SAN and general storage administration. Experience of clustered or parallel file systems such as NFS, Stornext, Spectrum Scale, GPFS, Lustre, BeeGFS or similar would be a distinct advantage. The role is working closely with clients with some element onsite and you will need the communication skills and experience to work in client environment. Any experience of working within the entertainment media, post-production or VFX sector is advantage. Clients are based primarily in and around the London area and the ability to travel to clients on occasion is preferred. They offer a dynamic, fast-growing company working within an exciting sector.
