**IT Operational Readiness** (Contract)

Duration: 6 Months (Possibility for extension)

Location: London/Hybrid (2 days per week on site)

Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate or Salary is available for suitable candidates

Role Overview

As the IT Operational Readiness Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining high availability and stability across various applications. Your technical expertise will support incident/problem analysis, change deployment, application performance, and operational management. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our applications run smoothly, enhancing the overall user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to maintain a robust software production processing environment.
  • Install, maintain, and support application/source code and components, including third-party software.
  • Detect, diagnose, and report issues; analyse and resolve incidents and problems related to software failures.
  • Collaborate with programming staff to enhance application performance and resource management.
  • Document all support activities related to application software comprehensively.
  • Deliver 24/7 support for applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents.
  • Consult with internal users on software capabilities and usage.
  • Follow escalation procedures to address issues efficiently.
  • Utilise diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
  • Assist development teams in project requirements, system design, and project delivery.
  • Verify technical specifications for development projects.
  • Act as a liaison between project teams and service delivery advocates.
  • Support client communications regarding incidents and resolutions.
  • Plan and maintain application-specific disaster recovery activities.
  • Conduct production support validations and certifications, accepting turnover from development.
  • Monitor product availability, capacity, and performance against defined service levels.
  • Support application security functionalities and related audit services.
  • Participate in change management reviews, validating documentation and changes implemented.
  • Provide on-call support as needed and participate in a rotation for 24-hour on-call duties.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Working knowledge of applications and utilities relevant to supported products.
  • Proficient in diagnostic techniques and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a knack for team-building and conflict management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software applications.
  • Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and maintain organisation in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
