Job Description

In this newly created position you will be the Lead Azure Architect within a global insurance organisation, working close with the wider IT team, third parties and the business to provide best-in-class enterprise solutions.

In what is a stand-alone role you will understanding the businesses roadmap and capabilities, translating these into robust and scalable enterprise system designs that support the business in achieving its' goals, as well as optimising their technology stack.

  • Design and document comprehensive solution architectures, including system components, interfaces, data flows, and integration points.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring proactive issue resolution and minimising business disruption.
  • Provide clear guidelines and support to engineering, development, and deployment teams, ensuring successful implementation of robust architectural solutions.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, recommending those that align with industry trends and project goals to ensure the business is thinking and acting innovatively
  • Manage costs by the review and optimisation of Azure spending, supporting the governance model for cost management, in alignment with the infrastructure team.

The Successful Azure Solutions Architect

Candidates MUST have solid experience within solutions and ideally enterprise architecture, with a first-class understanding of how systems, applications, infrastructure and data integrate to form solutions within an insurance environment, so some insurance sector experience is ESSENTIAL.

It is critical that you are an expert with Azure technologies, and modern data technologies, ideally holding relevant certifications in this, as well as TOGAF.

Experience with MS Power Apps, .Net and Angular will be important, as will the ability to interact with both in-house and outsource development resource.

Communication skills are key as you be liaising with the business and third parties, and this is a very collegiate business where face to face communication is key.

It is important that you have worked within an Agile environment and have a strong understanding of these principles, including Scrum.
