Our client, a market leader in the Financial Services Industry, is seeking a Senior Systems Developer to join their IT Development Team. Working under the leadership of the Head of Systems Development. The Senior Systems Developer will be responsible for supporting the development, testing, and delivery of systems across the organization. This role involves managing both internally developed and third-party systems, ensuring efficient operations and alignment with business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop programs and processes for internally developed IT systems to enhance business efficiency across all global offices.
  • Produce and maintain detailed documentation describing system functionality, data flow, and processes, to be used for maintenance, development, and as user guides where necessary.
  • Contribute to IT solutions that ensure regulatory reporting compliance for regulations such as EMIR, MAS, and ASIC.
  • Ensure seamless integration of third-party data sources and systems in line with the IT Architecture strategy.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to integrate systems with business processes, recommending and implementing improvements where necessary.
  • Maintain the system development work plan in collaboration with the Systems Group.
  • Apply regulatory standards for system and data security to internal systems.
  • Provide support to users, ensuring timely reporting and resolving any errors across various reporting jurisdictions.
  • Automate and enhance existing processes.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 10 years of programming experience with SQL Server Management Studio 2014 or higher, and T-SQL.
  • Strong experience in the financial industry (buy or sell side) with a good understanding of regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in writing complex queries, views, functions, and stored procedures.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Familiarity with ETL concepts and experience in building packages using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Significant front-end development experience in C# and WinForms.
  • Ability to navigate a large and complex code base.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle, project management principles, risk management, documentation, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Team Foundation Server/Azure DevOps and Git repositories.
  • Familiarity with Windows/web services.
  • Additional experience with Qlik Sense, Power BI, R, Python, FIX Protocol, or SharePoint is advantageous.
  • A good understanding of financial markets and instruments is preferable.
