Stores Person Required. Our client, established in the 1950s, is a well-established SME and a global leader in humidity control and moisture protection products. Operating through a network of partners and agents worldwide, they supply over 1,000 products across sectors including defence, packaging, power generation, electronics, chemicals, and more.
As a Stores Person, you will play a key role in the daily operations of the stores department, working closely with another experienced team member. The role covers all aspects of stock handling, including goods in, goods out, documentation control, and inventory management. This is a hands-on position that requires excellent time management, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
You will also be working with OrderWise, an integrated stock and manufacturing management system used for sales, purchasing, inventory, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and book in materials and components
- Check and scan all associated documentation (COAs, calibration certificates, batch information)
- Manage desiccants, cure dates, and batch-controlled items
- Prepare and dispatch goods efficiently and accurately
- Ensure correct documentation is included with outbound shipments
- Create and adjust Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Assign and manage batch numbers and traceability records
- Monitor and reorder stock items (including BLD and general parts)
- Conduct regular stock checks and participate in end-of-year stock valuation
- Identify and isolate stock with quality issues
- Raise purchase orders for consumables and components (e.g., RS, Farnell)
- Support the purchasing team with supplier communication and order tracking
- Operate Reach and Counterbalance forklift trucks (up to 6m racking height)
- Safely handle and store a range of items from small components to large palletised drums
Position Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse or stores environment, ideally within a manufacturing business
- Valid Reach and Counterbalance forklift licenses (in-date and essential)
- Experience using stock management systems - familiarity with OrderWise is advantageous
- Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality standards is desirable
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Comfortable with data entry and producing reports in Excel
- Able to manage documentation related to batch control and product traceability
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working as part of a team
Remuneration & Benefits
- Salary 30,000 - 32,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)
- Working hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM & Friday: 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM
