Technical Engineer - Late shift

Up to 45k (depending on experience)

Shift Details:

  • 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm (remote)
  • 10:30am - 7pm (2 days per week in London)
  • Overnight coverage for annual leave and sickness may be required.

I am working closely with a specialist IT MSP who are seeking a dedicated 2nd Line Engineer to join a dynamic support team responsible for managing service incidents, requests, and changes for both internal and external stakeholders. This role is critical in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely technical support and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incident Management: Take ownership of the full life-cycle of service incidents, from identification to resolution, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Remote and On-Site Support: Provide remote troubleshooting for end-user issues, and assist with setting up and maintaining equipment as per client specifications.
  • End-User Engagement: Deliver efficient, desk-side support to senior executives and other end-users, ensuring prompt communication on progress and resolution.
  • Service Quality and Compliance: Maintain SLAs by delivering solutions promptly, escalating issues to vendors as needed, and adhering to security and compliance protocols.
  • Active Directory and Access Management: Administer user accounts, Group Policies, and file access controls in alignment with company standards.
  • Documentation and Cyber Awareness: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, asset inventories, and change management records, while promoting cybersecurity awareness across the team.

Skills & Experience:

  • Technical Expertise: 5+ years in a similar role, preferably in the financial sector, with a strong foundation in Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Office 365, Active Directory, and Windows Server/Desktop.
  • Cloud and Automation Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365, including demonstrated ability to automate procedures for efficiency.
  • Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with LAN administration, including switch configuration and wireless access points, is beneficial.
  • Additional Tools: Familiarity with Intune, Conditional Access, MFA, Mimecast, Palo Alto Networks, telephony systems, and antivirus solutions.
