Overview: One of the UKs leading Managed Service Providers is looking for 2nd Line Engineer to join its managed services team to provide expert infrastructure & end user support for a range of clients. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure and develop skills surrounding all aspects of IT infrastructure, including cloud, virtual platforms, networking infrastructure, productivity suites, backups and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd & 3rd line support for client IT issues, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems.
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments.
  • Manage and administer Azure environments for multiple client tenants
  • Manage and support the Office 365 stack, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Setup and manage devices using Intune and Autopilot
  • Manage and support virtual servers, using VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Monitor and manage backups through Veeam and Symantec
  • Support Windows and macOS devices
  • Setup, monitor and troubleshoot networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
  • Work closely with 1st line support to ensure seamless escalation and resolution of issues.
  • Document procedures, processes, and technical configurations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar technical support role within an MSP or similar environment.
  • Windows Server administration.
  • Experience in Office 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Azure AD/Entra ID administration and monitoring
  • Solid understanding of VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Experience with backup or DR technologies is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
