Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Art and Design Technology (DT) Technician to support our students and staff in delivering high-quality practical lessons. The successful candidate will assist in preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth running of both the Art and DT departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation of materials, tools, and equipment for art and design technology lessons
• Supporting teachers in practical lessons and demonstrations
• Ensuring all equipment is safe, well-maintained, and stored properly
• Managing stock levels and ordering supplies when necessary
• Providing technical support to students during lessons, helping with their projects and designs
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the workshops and studios
• Assisting with displays of students' artwork and DT projects

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Art or DT Technician or in a similar role is desirable
• Knowledge of working with tools, materials, and equipment in both art and design technology settings
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teaching staff
• Strong communication skills and a positive, supportive attitude
• Commitment to health and safety regulations in the workshop and classroom
