Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join our team in West Ham. This role offers an excellent salary of 62,000 per annum and a dedicated night shift schedule from Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy goods vehicles to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine servicing, inspections, and scheduled maintenance on HGVs.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment.
- MOT Preparation:
- Prepare vehicles for MOT tests, ensuring full compliance with safety and legal standards.
- Carry out pre-MOT checks and resolve any identified issues.
- Breakdown and Emergency Support:
- Respond to emergency breakdowns during night operations, ensuring timely resolution.
- Complete on-the-spot repairs when possible to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Accurately complete job cards, maintenance logs, and service records.
- Adhere to all company and regulatory safety standards.
- Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other technicians to ensure seamless operations during the night shift.
- Communicate effectively with the Workshop Manager to report progress and issues.
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- Significant experience as an HGV Technician, preferably with night shift experience.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of HGV safety and compliance standards.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- A valid HGV license is highly desirable but not essential.
