A university based in Central London is looking for an IT / Operations Assistant to join their team for an initial six-month contract that could develop into a permanent role. This is a fantastic opportunity for an IT graduate looking to build on their career – there is scope to really grow in the company. This role will be the first point of call for any IT issues the team are facing and looking for someone friendly and team focused. Role is to start ASAP, based in their offices in Holborn full-time Monday-Friday, paying up to £29,000 per annum and hours are 9am-5pm. What you’ll do:
  • IT support – answer calls, logging request, onsite assistance – resolving first-line requests and escalating more complex issues
  • Assist and train employees where necessary on the use of software applications, hardware, AV equipment
  • Communicate technical topics to non-technical employees clearly and accurately
  • Install and maintain new IT and AV equipment
  • Manage contracts including mobile phones and photocopiers
  • Maintain records including updating database with stocktaking and updating inventory
  • Work closely with the wider IT & Operations team – cover for absences when needed
Who you are:
  • Personable, friendly and patient
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident working with Excel and Outlook
  • Able to respond calmly to urgent situations
  • Ideally degree educated in IT or similar
  • Previous experience working with IT or AV is ideal
  • Experience working in a helpdesk or customer service role
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software including desktop PCs, laptops and mobiles
  • Working knowledge of IT networking
