IT Desktop Support Engineer required by a fast-growing boutique MSP based in the City of London, offering a friendly and sociable environment with a competitive package including a salary of up to 40K. The IT Desktop Support Engineer will act as the escalation point within the Support Team. Experience within taking lead in BAU tasks such as maintenance of Active Directory, Group Policy, patching, cabling VMWare and systems backups as well as data centre and server work, whilst supporting multiple clients.

The IT Desktop Support Engineer will be resolving complex issues that have been escalated from the desktop support team, providing RCA and incident reporting. They will also take part in preventative maintenance and pro-actively be able to identify improvements for infrastructure and systems. They will be active involved in project work, oversee backups, all whilst providing an exceptional level of customer service.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experienced in 3rd line support within an environment where they have been supporting multiple sites or clients.
  • Familiar with being part of the delivery of IT projects.
  • Solid understanding of a wide array of Operating Systems
  • Experience of writing internal support documentation and client reports
  • Understanding of IT best practices and procedures (ITIL)
  • Experienced with AV Support
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to re prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take ownership, assess and troubleshoot incidents methodically
  • Able to be part of an out of hours on call rota, one week in four
  • Professional attitude, able to work with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
  • Team player with the ability to perform well under pressure
  • Punctual, good attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
