A large fashion company are looking for an Assistant Footwear to join their London office. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for footwear design, a keen eye for trends, and a collaborative spirit. The ideal candidate will have previous design experience.
Day-to-day of the role:- Assist in the design and development of trend and market-driven footwear collections each season.
- Conduct research on trends, colours, materials, and trims to inform design decisions.
- Create initial sketches and digital concepts of footwear designs.
- Contribute innovative and original ideas to the collection.
- Provide detailed technical drawings and specifications for prototype development.
- Engage in weekly updates with the development team and/or factories on current projects.
- Review prototypes, suggest amendments, and attend fittings.
- Explore innovative and sustainable materials, footwear constructions, and production methods.
- Analyse the footwear and fashion market to drive design inspiration for upcoming collections.
- Collaborate with senior designers and other product categories to align with the brand’s design strategy.
- Assist with range plans, collection overviews, and colour CADs.
- Prepare and update collection presentations for design reviews.
- Participate in footwear catalogue photoshoots and collection launches.
