Design and Technology Technician
Location: Tower Hamlets, London

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Design and Technology (DT) Technician to join our vibrant secondary school in Tower Hamlets. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our DT department, ensuring smooth lesson preparation and the safe use of materials and equipment. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with both staff and students, fostering a dynamic and creative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of tools, equipment, and materials for practical DT lessons.
  • Support teachers during lessons by setting up demonstrations and aiding students with their projects.
  • Maintain and ensure the safety of equipment in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Manage stock levels, order supplies, and maintain a clean, organized workshop.
  • Help create and arrange displays of student work for exhibitions and school events.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role or within a DT/Art department is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of using and maintaining DT tools, machinery, and materials.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
