Product Designer Location: UK, (Remote)Length: 12 monthsRate: Outside London From £42.79, Inside London From £47.60 p/h (Inside IR35)Hours: 40 HoursOverviewIn this role, you'll be working on our Unwanted Contact and Compromise team, helping protect WhatsApp users from spam, scams, and social engineering attacks. You'll be working with multiple sister teams across WhatsApp Central and business integrity and Central integrity to create user experiences that prevent people from unwanted contact and educate them on how to stay safe on the platform. This role requires you to work with both 1. client engineers to create these experiences and 2. ML engineers to understand how user-facing solutions to spam fit in with behind-the-scenes classifiers that proactively prevent spam. This is a generalist product designer role. Past designers who've been successful in this role have had strong prototyping and storytelling skills, and a deep interest in understanding how spam and scams on the internet can be prevented.Job Responsibilities:
  • Design flows and experiences that are simple and elegant
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable
  • Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant
  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams
  • Give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar for quality
  • Partner with Product Managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch
Typical Day-to-day:
  • Work on SPAM and Scam – designed features that will prevent users from getting scammed
  • Partner with the senior designer in the US- they will be assigned as the CW’s buddy
  • Working with engineers across London and California
  • E.g. project – warning strangers when they talk to strangers on WhatsApp.
Skills:
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
  • Strong visual design, interaction design, and product thinking
  • Experience in building and shipping applications or software
  • Provide a portfolio showcasing mobile design, UI/UX patterns
  • Demonstrated experience with end-to-end (hybrid UX and UI) product design
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required
