Senior Interaction Designer

About the Role

We are working with a leading public sector organisation that is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer to help shape user-centred digital services. This role is focused on designing accessible, inclusive, and seamless user experiences. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary, agile environment, collaborating with researchers, developers, and stakeholders to create impactful digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design digital services that prioritise user needs.
  • Work effectively in an agile, fast-paced environment, adapting to changing requirements.
  • Use research and analytics to understand users, identify service challenges, and test design solutions.
  • Champion accessibility and inclusion while ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation to develop shared design patterns.
  • Engage with stakeholders and communicate design decisions effectively.
Skills/Experience:
  • Experience designing clear, usable, and accessible digital interfaces for web, apps, or other platforms.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience guiding, mentoring, and supporting team members.
  • Ability to make informed design decisions based on user research.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate key design decisions.
  • Experience in running workshops or co-design activities.
  • Familiarity with design systems and working closely with developers to create reusable patterns.
