Job Role

As a Senior Service Designer, you will be responsible for designing and improving our services to ensure they meet the needs of users and align with Organisations strategic goals. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including academic departments, faculties, central professional services functions, digital and shared services to create seamless and user-friendly experiences.

You’ll work as part of a small team of Service Designers and a wider team of Business Analysts to conduct user research, design new services and support their creation.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Experience of developing and launching services using a recognised Service Design methodology, in an large complex organisation

Strong leadership skills and experience, including transformation and change management

Experience of establishing and governing a service design process from beginning to end

Ability to see the full strategic picture and ensure consistent alignment across all our services, operating model and process

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to a wide audience and the ability to coach, engage, encourage and bring along stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Strong engagement skills which enable the post holder to tactfully and assertively influence and negotiate at all levels

Highly organised, able to manage a varied workload, and that of the team

The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels within an organisation

The ability to work in partnership with senior stakeholders to co-create solutions that put the customer/user at the heart of outcomes

A collaborative approach to work, able to involve and include direct and indirect stakeholders
